How to become a Multimedia Animator

Multimedia animators can pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, Animation, Interactive Media, or Game Design. Employers look for individuals who have a good portfolio of work and strong technical skills.

Programs in computer graphics focus on programming and graphics. Programs in fine arts focus on painting, drawing, and sculpture. Programs in animation focus on drawing, animation, and film. Animators should have artistic ability and a good understanding of color, texture, and light. They need to be able to think creatively, develop original ideas, and make their ideas come to life.

Some animation studios have their own software and computer applications that they use to create films, and will offer their employees on-the-job training.
