How to become a Commercial Diver

Diving careers require professional scuba training and certification as well as instruction in a specific job.

Training includes completing a series of certification programs through a recognized dive agency, such as the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) or the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI).

Before becoming instructors, divers must become certified divemasters and rescue divers, and excel at several types of technical dives.

HAZMAT diving requires rigorous training. A lot of time is spent in the classroom learning gas laws, decompression tables, dive station orientation, vessel orientation, air spread orientation, expectations, and safety rules.
