How to become a Front-End Developer

There are many options available, not only programming language-wise, but regarding frameworks, tools, and technologies as well. A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is a route many students take, but is not always necessary.

At minimum, an understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is needed in order to be a front-end developer. There are all kinds of online courses available on how to get started. Becoming a front-end developer is not only about learning various front-end frameworks and programming languages, but about the interaction, responsibilities, and roles as well.

Courses (online or otherwise) in more advanced topics are also available, such as security, database administration, linux, or apache administration or front-end concerns like WAI or ARIA and 503 Compliance. Because the web is a rapidly evolving universe, great front-end developers should never stop learning.
