How to become a Humanitarian

A university degree is not always required to work as a humanitarian. And there is no degree that will shortcut the requirement for field experience.

However, if you want to make this a full-time career choice, you could look at completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or Nursing.

Degrees without any obvious connection to international development are seen as less relevant than those with direct relevance, so it's good to know what field of work you'd like to work in ahead of time.
