How to become an IT Support Specialist
An associate degree with on-the-job training and certification is sometimes sufficient to get hired, but to maximize employment potential, a bachelor's degree is recommended. Most employers require their IT support specialists to hold a four year Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
To show proficiency in installing and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, and applications, individuals may choose to test for their A+ credential from The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).
